in my possession on the 9th. of August last when on the advice of my Counsel, Mr. Jenkin, I transferred possession thereof by letter to the Registrar. As an honest person I would have transferred the possession of the balance in my hands in re Li Ah Sue deceased to the Registrar if I had not been able to return the same to the
payer thereof. I had no alternative.
The Loney Order Case.
It had been invariably my practice in the case of remittance to India to draft letters and Bash cheques and purchase Honey Orders therefor. In the case of Mohamed Ji, Deceased, I tendered one hundred odd dollars at the Loney Order Office to Mohamed Ackber for a Loney Order and he asked me to make out two applicat- -ions for oney Order. I asked him for the reason and he said for convenience sake. I did it accordin,ly. I was concerned with my receipts for the Money Order and did not trouble myself about how the Money Order Office clerks did their work. There is one Lore case in which ne asked me to do the same, but I can not remember
the name of the Estate.
On the 17th. of April last it was just 4 p.. when I called at the Koney Order of ice with 8213.93. Mohamed ekber was there at the Counter. I said "Will you do me the favour, although late", and he anid "Oh yes, certainly",. He in a hurry gave me two application forms, and he made himself busy with receipt books looking for the proper receipt book and I filled up one applica- -tion form for $13.93. As I handed him the application he said, *Please make out two - one for 113.93 and one for £100." I said "all right", and I altered the $213.93 to 113.93, and made another one out for $100, and handed them both in to him. I had the money out on the counter by me, and pushed it to him beneath the brass railings, and said "this is 8213,93′′ I am just going over the other side meaning the Registration Branch of the General Post
Office to see a clerk there Bishen Dess (Mahomed Ackber adnite this) and that I would be back for the receipts in two minutes.
He said "All right." I did that and when I went back to him he
handed me two receipts and I rushed off back with them to the office
